Trade shows and conferences have a track record of being successful, assuming a moderate cost. How you measure effectiveness largely depends on your goals for attending the trade show or conference. Taking this into consideration, here are a few tips to gauge effectiveness and success:

  • How many conversations were booked (e.g., dinners, happy hours, etc.)?

  • How many leads were generated in the pipeline?

  • How many sales were made?

  • How much direct traffic did you receive that could be classified as a halo effect?

  • How many connections did you make?

You can gauge effectiveness from everything, from revenue to contacts, depending on what success looks like to you.
