IMO -- we are tapped out in "cutting edge" tools in 2023. There are no cutting-edge tools that would replace good strategy. It doesn't matter how easy your tool makes sending physical gifts to prospects or how well your enrichment tool works -- without the right strategy in communicating with your prospects, none of the tools work.

Here at Second Nature, we've been investing a lot in identifying our TAM. We've been able to identify our target accounts through a backlinking audit from a couple of softwares that our ideal customers use. But when it comes to enriching those accounts with useful information, we are using the tool Clay.

Initially I thought there was no way this tool could do a better job than enrichment platforms like Zoominfo and Clearbit but I was wrong. It's been incredible and definitely worth checking out.

One thing I've been extremely impressed with is it's ability to scrape copy from websites you enter. If you are finding that Zoominfo or Clearbit are coming back empty for certain fields that are critical for you to know, try asking Clay to find that information recorded somewhere on their websites.

This depends on what “cutting edge” means to you. From my perspective, and I'm going to leave AI out of the conversation right now, I recommend focusing your tooling in 2023 to be highly efficient and where you can prove ROI.

A couple of areas that I feel will remain consistent are SEO and website testing tools. These two areas allow for short-term and long-term investment. I don’t think they will go out of style anytime soon. There are some very interesting tools in the market right now such as Eppo and Mutiny. Depending on your go-to-market motion, I recommend exploring these areas.
